NAR 360: The Power of R

We just got back from NAR 360, the kickoff for the NAR Convention. For those of you who haven’t been to one of these, NAR 2016 President Tom Salamone, along with a cast of favorites like 2015 NAR President Chris Polychron and NAR 1st VP Elizabeth Mendenhall, bring us a review of the past year. We REALTORS® did a lot of good work in 2016! From protecting our clients’ homeownership rights to ironing out some kinks in the TRID process, we did a lot of fantastic work within our communities.

NAR teamed up with the Boys and Girls Club of America this year. In Arizona, we took part in “Tell A Story” Day where the kids didn’t just listen to stories, they build their dream homes out of construction paper!

Today at 360, we got a good look at the REALTORS® Relief Fund, created right after 9/11/2001. This fund has been there when disaster has struck—floods, wildfires, tornados, hurricanes, you name it. I love what was said:

“We’ve been there when they’ve bought or sold a home. We need to be there when they need our help.”

There is a booth set up to accept your donations during the convention, too! If you donate while you’re here, you’ll get a “I Donated” sticker to wear for Casual Sunday. Yes, you get to ditch the suit and tie or your dress and heels for whatever you choose.

I’m hoping that in 2017, we see even more volunteerism in our communities. It’s an amazing feeling to be able to give back to whatever organization you are involved in.
