News Corp’s Robert Thomson at NAR 360

The NAR 360 opening session this afternoon featured an interview with News Corp CEO Robert Thomson. News Corp acquired realtor.com® exactly two years ago and was charged with revitalizing the the official consumer website of the National Association of REALTORS®, having fallen to third place among consumer real estate sites at the time of the acquisition.

Thomson, a native of Australia, landed in his current role as News Corp CEO in January of 2013. He previously served as the editor-in-chief of Dow Jones & Company and managing editor of the Wall Street Journal.

NAR First Vice President Elizabeth Mendenhall interviewed Thomson on stage, where he demonstrated a thorough understanding of, and appreciation for, REALTORS® and the REALTORS® brand. He also provided some insights into the sophisticated, data-driven lead generation powers of the site as it continues to improve.
